Types of Massage:

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.  Therapists apply slow deep strokes, frictions, and deep static pressure.  Deep tissue massage is great at breaking up scar tissue and is often used in treating soft tissue injury due to motor vehicle accidents, and recovering from sports related injuries.  We perform this massage according to your tolerance and need.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to induce great relaxation and reduce both emotional and physical stress.  It is performed using various techniques, such as gliding and squeezing.  Swedish massage eases muscle tension in the body, prevents and relieves muscles cramps and spasms, helps pain management, reduces anxiety, improves blood circulation and delivers oxygen and nutrients to the cells.

Pregnancy Massage

Due to the variety of restrictions on a woman's body during pregnancy, massage is performed differently at various stages of growth. Early trimester massage can be performed as normal with a few exceptions. Later trimester massages are performed with a variety of pillows for extra support to the mother's abdomen, legs and shoulders. Pressure is adjusted accordingly to avoid any injury to the mother or fetus.  Pregnancy massage is great for reducing low back and hip pain associated with child bearing.

Auto Injury Medical Massage

Medical Massage is result oriented and the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a Physician or Chiropractor. The therapist may use a variety of modalities during the treatment, but will focus the treatment on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis.

Medical massage is an essential part of the healing process for injuries that result from automobile accidents.

Soft tissue injuries, invisible on x-rays and often overlooked, can cause severe, debilitating pain after a car accident. Worse yet, if a soft tissue injury is not directly addressed with soft tissue therapy such as medical massage and left untreated and unresolved, the injured muscles and other soft tissues can end up causing chronic pain for months, years—even decades after the accident. Injured muscles heal with scar tissue in a way that leaves them less elastic and prone to re-injury and pain.

Sports Massage

Sports massage was designed for athletes, but is useful for anyone with chronic pain, injury or range-of-motion issues. It was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.

Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is a science and art that is based on the principle that there are microcosms (mini-maps) of the entire body mirrored on the feet.  Pressure applied to specific points on these microcosms helps to create balance within the body, soothing the nervous system, improving circulation, and reducing stress.  Great for treating foot pain, as well as providing overall wellbeing of the body.
